THIRTY DAYS OF KINDLE SCOUT – DAY 14

All right – so yesterday I promised you folks that I was going to tell you all about HeadTalker – which is basically a friendlier and easier-to-use version of Thunderclap. Both systems are designed to create a great big old communal push of social media power.

How’s that for a WTF moment?

Let’s say I set up a HeadTalker program to publicize a freebie promotion of BOOK X.

I’m going to call it BOOK X because I don’t want to have to rely on an example that might change over time. I want this blog entry to be as relevant as possible for as a long a time as possible, so I am not going to insert ANY of my own book titles in that BOOK X.

So I set up my HeadTalker to go live in two weeks time and I start looking around for folks to sign on to that campaign. So you see that campaign and you think to yourself “Well, that Steve Vernon is a pretty good dude in that he hasn’t asked me for money in the last few weeks – so I think I’ll help him out” and you sign up for that campaign, hooking your Twitter or your Facebook feed to it.

Which means that in two weeks time a tweet is going to show up on your Twitter page that says something like –

Steve Vernon hasn’t asked me for money in the last two weeks. Grab his free kindle e-book, BOOK X. #amreading

Now, if I had REALLY been thinking I would have had me an e-book out there entitled BOOK X and that would have been really cool and slick and ironic and such.

The idea is to have that tweet – whatever you choose to write it up as in the first place – to show up on about twenty-five or thirty-five or one hundred and five different Twitter feeds and hopefully get a whole lot of people stampeding over to Kindle to download their free Kindle copy of BOOK X.

(anybody out there wants to get a book called BOOK X out there, just let me know)

Which is WHY I have set up my own HeadTalker asking people to Nominate Kelpie Dreams for Kindle Scout.

The HeadTalker is set to go live first thing tomorrow – so if you are one of the three people who read this blog, counting my cat, then you still have time to jump on and see how HeadTalker works by joining up for free and clicking onto my campaign to support me.

Or not.

Lastly – I finally figured out (again) how to use screenshot. I figured it out once before, maybe six or eight months ago, and then I forgot completely how to do it and I had to go and look it up again this morning after reminding myself about sixteen or eighty-three times over the last week or three to go and look it up.

Don’t get old.

The memory is the first thing to…what the heck was I saying?

🙂

Anyway – here is how my Kindle Scout campaign looks today. That is hard to read but those first orange bars represent 1 hour and 2 hours and 2 hours on the HOT & TRENDING list over the first three days. Then that stretch of nine long orange bars are the 24 hour stretches. Those last two bars are 15 and 16 hours, respectively.

So my mojo is starting to fail me, but I have got at least three more ticking promotional devices set to go off over the next 15 days or so which should hopefully boost me back up into the 24 hour all day long Hot & Trending super orange category.

Or not.
