Sometimes we all need a kick in the pants.
I’ve been working on a work-in-progress for some time now. It is a YA novel that has been kicking around my desk for way too long.
I keep getting distracted – (see my entry on “Chasing Rabbits”). http://stevevernonstoryteller.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/chasing-rabbits/
I keep getting discouraged – (see my entry on “Dealing with Discouragement”) http://stevevernonstoryteller.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/dealing-with-discouragement/
So I have decided to try a trick that has worked for me in the past.
I’m going to start keeping a tally on where I am and where I need to be.
I’ll update this tally as my progress continues.
Let’s see if this works.

Whew. That’s good progress for a day’s work. I have the morning tomorrow. I’ll see if I can push it a little further. That’s the key to getting a project done. Push it everyday, forward, just a little – and see how long it takes to get closer to where you’re going to.

All right, so that wasn’t a whole lot of words – but they were good words and they helped me get around a hook in the road that I was stuck on. I’ve got errands to run, but maybe I’ll get back to this later today.
I’ll update this as I go.

I’m enjoying your blog so far and am looking forward to reading more
Glad to hear it, Paulina.
